DIAGNOSED ADHD & TWO DIAGNOSED ADHD SONS

Running his own businesses and raising two – at the time undiagnosed – ADHD sons had left Tom burnt out by the time the 2020 pandemic hit. When his youngest son was diagnosed with ADHD he strongly suggested that Tom look into it for himself!

It took Tom just 10 minutes of researching the symptoms to realise that ADHD lay behind the consistent struggles yet also successes he had experienced in his life. The diagnosis when he received it, was life changing, giving him a much needed understanding of his own life.

Tom had trained as an Executive Coach in 2015 and has coached in large banks, legal firms and media companies in the City of London. He’s also worked with many entrepreneurs, whether new to working for themselves, running their own business, or facing the demands of business growth or adapting to change.

His work took him into the worlds of global corporations, politics, digital media, consultancy, the arts, disabilities, entrepreneurship and e-commerce.

He was part of the founding team of the UK’s Fatherhood Institute, where he persuaded the Government to first introduce Paternity Leave in 2003. Then Tom was a serial entrepreneur and Executive Coach working in the City.

He had spent years confused on why he was able to hyper-focus and be successful in areas that really held his interest, while struggling to manage the simplest of mundane tasks. But over the years he had learnt to harness the strength of what he now knows is this common ADHD trait, to create his own businesses and succeed in those areas of interest, and to somehow manage the others.

Tom has a huge understanding of the challenges of self organisation and motivation, communication, leadership and productivity whilst attempting to achieve a balanced life that meets the needs of family, work and personal fulfillment.

His work and training as an Executive Coach has led him to an understanding of the neuroscience behind high performance for individuals and teams. Since being diagnosed and learning about ADHD, he’s been able to integrate his understanding of how it affects his own and other ADHD client’s strengths and struggles.

Tom is focussed on helping others with ADHD to thrive in their own work and lives and wants to help you succeed, whether you are working for yourself or with an employer.
