PROFILE

Krissy is an experienced trauma-informed neurodivergent Psychotherapist and Counsellor.

Bringing both personal and professional experience, Krissy aims to provide an expansive space where you can arrive as you, without judgment, and work through or towards whatever has brought you to therapy.

Her work is grounded in empathy, connection, validation and authenticity. With some humour along the way too!

Professionally, Krissy worked for a number of years in a drug and alcohol rehabilitation unit but has for the past 8 years, exclusively worked one-to-one with clients.

With lots of studying on the side – her specialism is trauma including sexual, childhood and single event trauma. Much of her work sits at the intersection of trauma and neurodivergence.

In her work, Krissy utilises an integrative approach pulling upon various therapeutic modalities from Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Internal Family Systems, Psychodynamic through to Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing and more, meaning your individual needs are always met.

On a personal level Krissy received incorrect diagnoses following mental health challenges including self-harm and suicidal ideation throughout her teens and early 20’s only receiving her ADHD diagnosis in the last 18-months.

Suddenly, everything made sense but with that came grief for the little girl who was so deeply unseen and misunderstood.

Seen as the life and soul of the party, and a high achiever, Krissy internally struggled with the overwhelm of daily life, executive functioning and RSD.

Krissy also has PMDD, and brings the awareness of the links between ADHD and PMDD and the consequent possibility of a dual-diagnosis for clients into her work.

She is also the parent to a teenage Autistic, ADHD, with PDA profile son who experienced immense challenges, and consequent trauma, in the mainstream education setting, but after a long fight is now settled in a specialist provision.

Krissy’s personal experience as a neurodivergent, cisgendered, bisexual woman, and a parent deepens her understanding and contributes to the space she provides therapeutically.
