KIM

INDIAN HEAD MASSAGE PRACTITIONER

COMBINED ADHD
CHILDREN & GRANDCHILDREN ADHD

LOCATION ~ SL6

Kim had her ADHD assessment in 2021 which confirmed she had ADHD. She had always been aware she was a little ‘different’, struggling with anxiety and focus all her life.

She went for the assessment after listening to a lady on stage who described her life experiences with ADHD and thought to herself, “oh my word, that’s me!”

Kim also struggled with Maths and numbers so thinks she also has  Dyscalculia with a light sprinkling of OCD!

Since learning about her own diagnosis her grown-up daughter has gone on to be diagnosed and she can clearly see both her sons have ADHD too.  One of her grandsons has just been diagnosed with ASD and ADHD.

Since her diagnosis Kim has really begun to understand her whole life.  The diagnosis brought a mixture of emotions. Guilt and regret.  Without realising, she had been self-medicating with alcohol to quieten her mind and the anxiety.

As a child she shoplifted.  Her Mum could never afford things so she stole essentials.  Her mother brought Kim up as a single mum but spent a lot of time in hospital due to poor mental health.  Kim now believes this was due to undiagnosed ADHD.  She also tried to take her life when Kim was young.

Kim gets frustrated that schools don’t seem to put structures in place for struggling children whose parents can see signs of ADHD; they need to have an assessment first which takes a long time to get.  She believes ADHD screening should be made compulsory in schools and prisons for those showing signs of ADHD.

In 2017 Kim went for her first Indian Head Massage and was surprised to notice how peaceful her mind was, any anxiety and tension just seemed to melt away.  She remembers sleeping really well that night.  She then had regular treatments and decided soon after to train so she could help others especially with ADHD as the effect on her had been so powerful.

Kim believes Indian Head Massage helps people with ADHD due to the stimulation of endorphins and dopamine chemicals in the brain – the ‘feel good hormones’ which we lack.  It can help to lift mood, relax the mind, ease insomnia and depression.  Also helps with exhaustion, edginess and tension.  The Fight or Flight state calms down.

Kim has gone on to treat ADHD Counsellors, clients with high anxiety levels, long haul Pilots, Carers, Office staff and many others.

The feedback she gets is that the Indian Head Massage gives clients good quality sleep, stress and anxiety is reduced, mood is lifted, it brings more awareness of where tension is being held in the body, headache reduction, tension release in the head, neck and shoulders.

Kim works from a beautiful relaxing therapy room in Maidenhead, Berkshire.  She adds Essential Oils into a diffuser in her treatment room to cleanse the air and promote relaxation and lessen any anxiety.  It brings a beautiful ambiance to the room and a lovely beginning to the treatment. Her clients start to relax before the treatment even begins.

Kim is very passionate about helping others to bring them some calm, reassurance and comfort and to ease any tensions they may have.
