PROFILE

Growing up, Kathryn struggled in ways she didn’t fully understand at the time. In school, she was often called a dreamer, easily distracted or told she ‘was just not applying herself’.

Time management felt impossible, and no matter how hard she tried, her brain seemed to work differently from those around her. Looking back, Kathryn recognised these challenges as part of her inattentive ADHD – something she only discovered much later in life.

Kathryn understands firsthand the often misunderstood challenges of living with ADHD. Growing up, her brain would frequently slip into moments of mental paralysis – especially when focus was most needed!

Instead of engaging with the task at hand, she would drift into daydreams or find her mind preoccupied with thoughts that felt irrelevant in the moment.

This internal experience often led others to perceive her as disinterested, forgetful, or even lazy when in reality, she was overwhelmed and stuck in a loop of internal distraction.

Relationships added another layer of complexity. In an effort to belong, Kathryn unconsciously masked her traits and even mimicked how others dressed, spoke, and behave – anything to feel accepted.

This constant self-monitoring was exhausting and disconnecting. In toxic dynamics, her ability to ignore the ‘red flags’ meant she often didn’t recognise unhealthy patterns until they became impossible to ignore – usually long after others had noticed.

These lived experiences are what drive Kathryn’s deep empathy and insight as an ADHD counsellor and coach. She brings not just professional training but real understanding and validation to the people she works with – especially those who have spent years feeling misunderstood, out of sync or like they had to work twice as hard just to keep up.

Like many neurodivergent people, Kathryn unknowingly chose career paths that constantly challenged her. She pushed through, adapting as best as she could, but over time, the struggles became overwhelming.

It wasn’t until Kathryn was diagnosed with ADHD that everything clicked into place. For the first time she  understood why she had felt so out of sync for so long. More importantly, she realised that she wasn’t broken – she just needed to work with her brain, not against it.

Over time, Kathryn began to unlearn the stories she had internalised about herself – ‘not being good enough’ , ‘lazy’ or ‘too much’. With the right support, knowledge and community, she started to see her brain not as broken, but as brilliantly different. It was this shift that changed everything.

Her own healing journey sparked a passion to help others navigate theirs with less shame and more compassion. Becoming an ADHD counsellor and coach wasn’t just a career choice – it was a calling.

Today, Kathryn is deeply committed to helping her clients feel seen, supported, and empowered to thrive in ways that honour their unique minds. She helps others navigate their own ADHD journeys with empathy, understanding and practical strategies.

Kathryn is particularly passionate about working with clients dealing with workplace reasonable adjustments, RSD, relationships, procrastination and late diagnosis.

She knows firsthand how frustrating, isolating, and exhausting it can be to feel misunderstood. But also knows that with the right support, everything can change. Kathryn is dedicated  to helping you navigate those challenges, embrace your strengths and build a life that truly works for you.

My 13-year old daughter and I have worked with Kathryn to help manage her ADHD. While I have read extensively about ADHD and attended parental coaching courses. Kathryn provided valuable insights and offered fresh perspectives that I had not previously considered. She quickly built a strong rapport with my daughter, engaging with her on a level that felt natural and respectful.

Working together as a group of three proved particularly beneficial. For instance, I was able to share my concerns, and Kathyrn skillfully facilitated discussions to identify practical solutions. These conversations were always conducted constructively and positively, leaving both my daughter and me feeling encouraged after each session.

Overall, I believe Kathryns expertise has significantly strengthened the bond between my daughter and me. I wholeheartedly recommend her services.
